Remote Access & Device Management

6 vendors

Splashtop, TeamViewer, Fleet, MeshCentral, RustDesk, Sunlogin — remote access, remote support & device management.

Splashtop licenses per concurrent technician — built for help-desk teams fielding on-demand support tickets. TeamViewer has the broadest install base and partner reach in this category, suited to IT departments managing a real device fleet. Fleet is open-source device management, deployable self-hosted or on Fleet's own managed cloud.

Mobile Device Management

3 vendors

Hexnode, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Omnissa, ManageEngine, SOTI, Scalefusion, Miradore, Kandji, Mosyle — mobile device management & UEM.

Teams already on Microsoft 365 should default to Microsoft Intune — licensed through the same Microsoft CSP channel, no second vendor relationship to stand up. Apple-only fleets should use Jamf — the deepest Apple-only integration, though it doesn't manage Windows devices at all. Hexnode has the broadest cross-platform coverage, but OS patch management (macOS/Windows) is only included at its Ultra tier — a common assumption that it's included lower down is wrong.

Backup & Recovery

3 vendors

MSP360, Veeam, Acronis — image, VM & cloud-to-cloud backup software.

Veeam is the enterprise standard for virtualization-heavy environments (instant VM recovery, application-aware backups). MSP360 is the budget-friendly option — its entry tier starts well below Veeam's. Acronis bundles backup with anti-malware protection in one product.

Most of these tools come pre-configured, monitored and maintained as part of a Managed IT plan — no separate vendor relationship to juggle.
